The PHIT4DC full track program is a 15-week online/hybrid course that is the foundational public health informatics course. Areas of competencies are mapped closely to the Office of the National Coordinator’s (ONC HIT) curriculum and the DC’s HIE Policy Board approved DC Digital Health Core Competencies.
It covers:
- History and of Public Health and Public Health Informatics
- History of HIT and Introduction to Information policy and regulation
- HIT System Interoperability and Modularity with training exposure to CRISP
- Standards for health information data sharing
- Professionalism and Customer service in the healthcare environment
- Project Management Basics
- Value-based care
- Patient Privacy Issue
- Behavioral Health in DC
- 6-day training on E-Clinical Works- Role based training & Population Health
- An additional multi-week CAHIMS bootcamp to prepare for the CAHIMS Certification Exam
Students who successfully complete the Course Content will be eligible to take the CAHIMS Certification Exam
