Course Description
Students will obtain an overall understanding of the revenue cycle process and its impact within clinical practice to assure payments for services rendered and to implement best practice(s) to support the organization’s financial health and compliance with key regulations.
After the Course You Will;
- Understand and apply the components of the Revenue Cycle Management process.
- Understand and apply the aspects of health insurance including reimbursement policies, contracting, and credentialing.
- Understand current reimbursement methodologies including both fee-for-service, risk-based and value-based reimbursement.
- Understand Revenue Cycle Management in varying places of service including physician practice, hospitals, and other care delivery locations.
- Obtain benchmarking and measurement tools to monitor the performance and outcomes of the RCM process.
- Develop an awareness of the entities that regulate Revenue Cycle Management along with compliance challenges to overcome.
- Take away an understanding of how RCM fits into the operations and overall strategy and objectives of a healthcare organization.
